The band’s lead singer, Jared Leto, took to Instagram to share a sneak peek of his latest music video. He captioned it, “Rescue me is song about pain. It’s also a song about empowerment, faith, and freedom.”
Michael Jackson’s only daughter, Paris Jackson, made a cameo in the powerful music video. She was among the montage of people who were featured expressing different emotions as part of the video.
In the video, Paris can be seen wearing a plain baby-pink tee with beaded rainbow bracelets, and her hair tied up into a messy bun.
Paris also posted a spoiler of Rescue Me on her Instagram and expressed her gratitude for being a part of the inspiring video. She wrote, “Thank you guys for thinking of me and letting me be apart of such a beautiful and powerful project.”
Leto took to his Instagram story to give a detailed, sentimental explanation of what the compelling and creative music video entails. Paris re-posted the same story to her Instagram story too.
It read, “Pain does not discriminate. It can affect us all. In our bodies. Our hearts. Our minds. And often, when that pain is emotional or mental, we are afraid to speak up.”
Leto further explained the story behind the single and stated, “Rescue Me is a song about pain, a song about empowerment, a song about faith, and a song about freedom.”
On the official UK albums chart, 30 seconds to Mars’ 2018 album, America, was charted at number 4 – the band’s highest UK chart position to date. The new song has been added to the album and will also feature at the band’s tour, The Monolith Tour.
