Here is everything you need to know about Father’s Day 2018:
When is Father’s Day?
This year, Father’s Day will be celebrated on Sunday, June 17, so make sure you mark that in your calendar.
What is the story behind it?
Many people believe the tradition dates back 100 years ago.
It’s widely accepted that Father’s Day began in America, reports Kent Live.
Sonora Dodd, a woman from Washington, is thought to have come up with the idea after learning a 1910 Mother’s Day sermon and wondered why dads didn’t get the same.
Others believe it was Grace Golden Clayton from Fairmont in West Virginia who came up with the concept of the day in 1908 after a mine exploded killing more than 360 men in a nearby town. She said children of those killed needed time to remember their fathers.
