Chloe Ayling ‘kidnapped’ Instagram Model Wakes To Find Herself In Strange Farmhouse And Is Rescued By Unlikely Hero
20-year-old Chloe was being held in a farmhouse in the middle of nowhere. It had been days since she had been taken and the men who were guarding her, two brothers by the looks of them, spoke only broken English and seemed to have sinister plans for her. She didn’t know much, but she knew that the remote home was somewhere in the Italian countryside.
Sold into Slavery
From the time she had been picked up in Milan, Chloe had been told that she was going to be sold off as a sex slave to someone in the Middle East. She had been warned, as she lay there, chained inside the strange farmhouse, that if she tried anything, her ruthless captors were more than willing to kill her and be done with it. All she could think of was her little two-year-old son back home…
At only 20-year-old, Chloe had already developed quite an impressive Instagram following. She was a model, a minor celebrity, and working mom. But modeling is a cut-throat industry, and Chloe knew that she needed to take any opportunity that came along. So when she got a call for a modeling gig in Milan, she jumped at it.
When Chloe arrived in Milan to meet up with the photographer, she was excited. The opportunity was, at least on paper, a fairly lucrative one. If only someone had told her that most things that seem too good to be true, almost always are. She walked through the airport, hoping that she’d run into the photographer soon…
Suddenly, someone in a black hood approached her from behind and places their hand on her mouth. He was wearing black gloves and was flanked by another man in a balaclava. Before she could scream or struggle, the second man stuck her in the arm with some kind of needle. Things began to go dark and a moment later, Chloe was unconscious.
In a Trunk
Chloe woke up inside the trunk of a car. She was wearing only her pink chenille undershirt, her socks, and underpants. Apparently her kidnappers had taken off her jacket, blue jeans, and sneakers. Her wrists and ankles were in handcuffs and black tape was covering her mouth. As if all that weren’t enough, she was also inside some sort of bag, which was zippered almost all th the way up, with only a small hole for her to breathe…
Already a Buyer
Though she didn’t know it at that moment, Chloe Ayling had been given a high dose of Ketamine and was being shipped off to be auctioned off on the dark web for upwards potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars. At the time though, all she could think was that she was going to die for certain and all she could hope for was a non-painful death.
The Black Death
The people who had called her were apparently part of a criminal organization that operates on the dark web called, the Black Death. These people are apparently responsible for a network of kidnapping and human trafficking all across the world. There has even been some proof of their existence and activities in the form of a chained-up woman who was being sold for £115,000 a few years back. That was to be Chloe’s fate as well…
The Dark Web
The so-called Dark Web is a part of a non-indexed part of the internet known as the Deep Web. This piece of the world wide web is supposedly the home of countless criminals, hackers, and other such nerdowells who are involved in any number of clandestine and very illegal activities. In Chloe’s case, the buying and selling of kidnapped women over the internet.
Chloe had been kept in the house for several days by a tall Eastern European men named Lukasz Herba, who had apparently been paid £500,000 by Romanians to pose as a photographer and meet Ms. Ayling in Milan. He and his brother, Michal Konrad Herba thought they had the perfect plan…
It wasn’t until he learned that Chloe had a two-year-old son that he began to take pity on her. He wanted to get her home, not have her auctioned off to someone on the Dark Web, but he needed to find a way to make all their efforts worthwhile too. He and his brother decided to try and ransom her back to the authorities instead.
The auction for Chloe Ayling was to start at a whopping £270,000 but Polish-born Lukasz Herba, and his brother Michael would demand £250,000 to stop the action. Lukasz didn’t speak or write English too well, so he had Chloe help him to write the ransom notes. The more he got to know Chloe, the less brutal he seemed and the more he began to rethink his choices…
Seen by Others
Lukasz took Chloe out walking along the road so that she wasn’t stuck inside the whole time. It would therefore have been impossible for her to be held for a week without anyone seeing her there, no matter how remote the Italian farm. Several of their neighbors recalled seeing the two of them, who were strangers in the neighborhood, walking around the area, looking slightly awkward.
Meanwhile, Chloe made sure to be as sweet and polite as she could. As long as she went alone with what the Herbas told her, she might get home to her son and not end up as a captive prostitute for the rest of her life. The two were becoming closer, but Chloe was still terrified what might happen if he changed his mind…
Chloe abided by every one of Lukasz’s requests. If he asked her to ‘go buy groceries’, she went with him. If he told her, ‘you need shoes, let’s go buy shoes’, he went with her and didn’t try to run. She understood her position was still tenuous, but his demeanor had changed so much, maybe she’d get home to her little boy after all.
Send Her Home
For six long days, the two of them were holed-up in that farmhouse together until finally, Lukasz Herba had enough. He couldn’t go through with any of it anymore. He took her to the British consulate in Milan and dropped her off. Then he turned himself in, but police were soon looking for Michael Herba as well….
On August 16 of that year, a month or so after Lukasz Herba had turned himself in and released Chloe Ayling, police announced they had located and arrested Michal Herba. They had used a European Arrest Warrant and raided the West Midlands to find him. The problem now was, they had to find a way to extradite him so he could face trial in Italy, the place where it all went down.
After a few weeks of deliberation, Westminster Magistrates Court, District Judge Paul Goldspring decide that 36-year-old Michael Konrad Herba would be extradited to Italy. Both he and his 30-year-old brother Lukasz would face charges there. There was still a good amount of doubt about Chloe’s tale, however. Some people believed that the Instagram star had faked the whole thing…
Michal Herba’s lawyers have suggested that the entire case is a “sham” and that it was contrived as a publicity stunt in order to give Chloe Ayling even more internet fame. At first, even his brother agreed as well. He said the three of them planned the kidnapping after they had met in Paris and that no one was guilty of anything illegal.
A court in Milan has dismissed those spurious claims and Chloe’s lawyer has used them to his advantage, slamming them as evil. Today, both brothers are still being tried and have not been sentenced, but Lukasz’s recent call to his mother asking her to destroy emails and dump a car of his, makes it seem like the case is about to be real cut-and-dry.
