Reports of a woman who forced herself to jump six floors have gone viral. Her reason for the deadly jump was to escape being raped at knife-point. Now, her parents are claiming she is being thrown into a Dubai prison.
The 22-year-old woman named Ekaterina Stetsyuk was brought to the hospital after receiving serious injuries on her back. She says that a man attempted to sexually abuse her while pulling out a knife. The alleged suspect has made a counterclaim that Ekaterina attacked him first.
Ekaterina reportedly jumped from a window in order to escape her rapist.
This resulted in her being in custody while still in a hospital bed. Her parents are now claiming that she has been moved to a Dubai detention center.Hailing from Russia, Ekaterina’s family revealed that her attacker was a 39-year-old Pakistani businessman. He first invited her to discuss a future business contract. However, unbeknownst to her knowledge, the unnamed man originally planned to rape her. She further claims that after he became drunk, he started becoming “violent.” He eventually pulled out a knife and forced her to remove her clothes.
The alleged rapist, however, made a counterclaim saying that it was her who attacked him first.
Ekaterina’s mum, Inga, was quoted saying: He grabbed a large knife from a coffee table, and held her neck. He held her neck, pushed her against the wall, and began to wave the knife next to her head, threatening her.The two went on a fight after she managed to grab the knife and wounded the man. She then ran straight to the balcony and jumped six floors to find safety. Unfortunately, the jump resulted to some injuries.
The alleged businessman, however, counterclaimed that she first attacked him. And during the fight, he accidentally pushed her out of the window.
Reports initially said that Ekaterina suffered a broken spine, but this was later on corrected. She had some serious injuries and so she had to undergo two operations on her back. Authorities have recently confirmed that she is now well enough to be moved from the hospital to a prison cell.
Due to the jump, the 22-year-old woman suffered a couple of serious injuries.
A friend of the victim said in an interview: To save her life and dignity, she jumped from the sixth floor. A Russian vice-consul by the name of Ivan Gubanov refused to comment on Ekaterina’s purpose for staying in Dubai. He shrugged off rumors about her being an escort and said: It is better to show compassion. This is about a young girl, our compatriot, who really fell from the 6th floor, miraculously survived, having injured her spine and internal organs.
Her parents are now saying that she is being moved to a Dubai prison
Gubanov further added that Ekaterina would have to remain in the country until the investigation reaches completion. In a separate interview, the Russian counsel in Dubai said that they are currently “studying the situation” and are “providing all necessary support to her.”
Ekaterina requested that the authorities do not disclose any further details about the accident.
